The British made 1:48 scale sterling silver Supermarine MK II Spitfire uses aluminium from a wartime Spitfire Mk 2 for its propeller, which is roughcast - you can literally feel its heritage. Due to limited material, its offered as a limited edition of (1945) 1,945 models.
It has a 9 1/4 " (c. 24cm) wingspan.
It comes with a sterling silver plate attached to the top of the plinth with the number of the sold model. For example: Supermarine MK II Spitfire, 2 of 1945.
Additional silver hallmarked plates are priced at £105.00 with engraved text at £1.90 per letter. The price of the 1:48 is £2,250 including VAT.

Each model is certified by its maker, craft silversmiths Anthony Holt & Son Ltd, with a certificate signed by Mat Jones, Managing Director of spitfires .com. This verifies that the aluminium used is original to the aircraft shown.
